Our office for Nagarjuna Construction Company Limited is on the ground floor at F100 in Suncity, Sector 54, Gurgaon. This area has changed so much since we first started and Sector 54 is always buzzing with people and new buildings going up. Being on the ground floor is handy because we have people coming in and out all day, from site supervisors to delivery guys with heavy folders. The office isn't anything special to look at, just a place where we keep the computers and the coffee machine running. We spend a lot of time on the phone trying to coordinate with the crews out in the field. Sometimes the dust from the nearby construction gets inside, but we just wipe off the desks and keep going. We don't really bother with any of that professional marketing talk you hear from the big firms. We are just a bunch of people who know how to read a site plan and get a foundation poured. There is always some kind of problem to solve, whether it is a machine breaking down or a late shipment of bricks, but that is just part of the job. We stay here until the work is finished for the day, which usually means late evenings under the office lights. It is tiring work but seeing a building actually take shape makes it feel like we did something useful. We just try to stay focused on the blueprints and the brickwork.
