M/S D.S Construction Ltd. is run by Sadananda Mohanty, who is the son of Madan Mohan Mohanty. We are based in Village Nimigam, which is under the Post Sasanambagam in the Ganjam district of Orissa. Being out here in a village means we are very connected to the local community. Most of the people who work with us are neighbors or people from the surrounding area. We handle various construction tasks that come up around Ganjam. It’s not like those big city companies with their polished offices and receptionists. Our office is just a room where we keep the ledger and the project plans. We spend most of our time outside, checking on the work and making sure the materials have arrived. Sometimes the roads to Nimigam can be a bit difficult after a heavy rain, but we manage to get things done. We’ve been working this way for a long time, following the way things were done before us. It’s an honest living and we take it one day at a time. We don't really do any marketing or have a big sales team. People know who Sadananda is and they know where to find us in the village. We just focus on doing the work as it comes and keeping our equipment in working order. It’s a simple, local business through and through. That’s just how things are for us here in Orissa.
