Mohan Diesel Spares

Mohan Diesel Spares is right here near Railway Road. It’s easy to miss if you aren't looking, but the regulars know where we are. We have shelves full of parts and it smells like oil most of the time. My hands are usually a bit dirty from moving boxes around. The trains go by quite often and you can hear the whistles from the shop. It gets dusty because of the road, so we spend a lot of time wiping things down. We don't have a computer system that does everything, mostly we just remember where the spares are kept. If someone needs a specific part for their engine, we go look for it in the back. It’s a small space, really. There’s a chair for people to sit while they wait, but mostly they just stand and talk. We’ve been near the railway for a long time. The mornings are quiet until the traffic picks up. We keep the doors open to let some air in. Sometimes the neighbors come by just to chat about the weather. It’s not a fancy place with bright lights. Just a regular shop with a lot of heavy metal parts. We try to keep things organized but sometimes a box gets misplaced. It’s just part of the job here. We stay until the sun goes down and then lock up the shutters. It’s what we do every day.
