We are based in New Delhi and we spend our days looking at resumes and talking to people who need work. It’s a big city and there is always someone looking for a new start or a better paycheck. Our office isn't anything special to look at, just a place with enough desk space for us to make phone calls and check emails. The traffic in Delhi is always a mess, so we spend a lot of time on the phone instead of making people travel across the city for every little thing. We try to keep track of who is hiring and who has the right skills. It gets a bit chaotic sometimes when a lot of people call at once. We don't use any fancy software that pretends to know everything; we just read the files and talk to people. Sometimes we stay late when a big project comes in. The tea guy downstairs knows our order by heart now. It is a lot of talking and listening. We see people from all walks of life trying to find their place in the economy. Some days are slow and we just tidy up the files. Other days we don't even have time for a proper lunch. It’s just how the job market works in a place like this. We are just a small team trying to keep up with the pace of the capital. It can be tiring but seeing someone get a job makes the long hours worth it in the end.
