Our place is out in Plot No. 14 in Sector-3, over in IMT Manesar. If you’ve ever been to this part of the industrial area, you know how it looks—lots of large plots and trucks moving in and out all day. We get here early because the commute can be a bit of a trek depending on the traffic on the highway. Once we’re inside the gates, it’s all about the daily routine of the plant. There is usually a bit of noise from the machines, and the staff are always moving between the office and the floor. The sun beats down on the roof in the afternoon, so we keep the coolers running. We have a small cabin for the paperwork, but most of the work happens out in the main area. We’ve got some storage space for materials and the finished parts. It’s a functional space, built for work, not for looking pretty. The chai wallah comes by at ten and four, which is a nice break for everyone. We know the guards at the nearby gates, and we all help each other out if a delivery truck gets lost. It’s a solid, dusty, hardworking environment. We focus on getting the orders ready on time. There’s always something that needs fixing or a machine that needs oiling. It's just how things go in Manesar. The factory whistle from the next plot marks our lunch break time every day.
