Jain Textile Industries

Jain Textile Industries is located on Behrampur Road in Village Khandsa. This area has changed quite a bit since we first started here, but the road is still as dusty as ever with all the construction and trucks going by. Our building is a simple structure where we keep the textile machinery running throughout the day. You can hear the hum of the equipment from the street before you even walk through the gate. It’s a straightforward setup. We have the raw fabric coming in one side and the finished rolls going out the other. The floor is usually covered in lint and little threads, no matter how much we try to sweep it up. It’s just the nature of working with textiles in Khandsa. Most of the staff live nearby, so they walk or cycle in every morning. We don’t have a big corporate lobby or a receptionist; if you walk in, you’ll probably just see someone busy with a ledger or checking the tension on a machine. It’s a lot of hard work and the hours can be long when we have a big batch to finish. We keep our coffee mugs on our desks and focus on the tasks at hand. There isn’t much time for anything else besides making sure the fabric is right and the machines don't break down in the middle of a run. Usually, the day ends with us checking the final counts and locking up the big metal shutters.
