Jain Book Agency is over at G-19 in the Central Plaza Mall on Golf Course Road. If you are taking the Rapid Metro, we are pretty close to the station in Sector 53. Gurgaon has changed a lot, and being in a mall is quite different from the street-side shops most people are used to. The air conditioning is a relief, especially when it’s forty degrees outside. We spend our time here keeping the books in order on the shelves. It’s a clean space, but we still have piles of new arrivals sitting in the corners waiting to be sorted. Sometimes the mall gets quiet during the week, and that’s when we get the most work done. We get all sorts of people walking in, from folks living in the nearby apartments to people working in the big office towers. Some know exactly what they want, while others just wander around looking at covers for an hour. We don’t have a big fancy staff, just a few of us making sure everything is where it should be. The mall has its own vibe, very modern and fast, but inside the shop, we try to keep things simple. We deal with a lot of different titles, and my desk is usually covered in catalogs and order forms. It’s a steady job, keeping track of what’s coming in and what’s going out. We like the location because it’s easy for people to reach after work and grab what they need.
