If you are heading down Sohna Road in Islampur, you'll find us. Deepak Power Tools is situated near the Nand Dharam Kanta and the Bank of India. It’s a pretty busy stretch of road. We sell and fix power tools. It’s a noisy business, usually filled with the sound of drills or saws being tested to make sure they work correctly. We don't have a big showroom. It’s more like a workshop where things are stacked up on shelves wherever they fit. We’ve got grease on our hands most of the time. People bring in their broken tools and we see what we can do to help. Some things are easy to fix, others take all afternoon and a lot of patience. We don't try to sound like experts, we just know how the machines work from years of messing with them. The shop gets hot in the summer because of all the metal around. We have a small fan that barely does anything, but we get used to it. We like the work. It’s satisfying to see a tool start running again after it was stuck for weeks. We get all kinds of customers, from big contractors to guys just trying to fix something at home. We treat everyone the same. We don't have a marketing department or anything like that. We just put a sign out front and wait for people to come in. It works for us. We just stay focused on the repairs.
