Fashion Of People

Plot No. 494 in Udyog Vihar is where we spend most of our time. Being on the 3rd floor means we get a bit of a view, though it is mostly just other buildings and trucks. Fashion Of People started because we had some extra space and some good connections for fabric. It isn’t a fancy boutique with velvet curtains. It is more of a workspace where things actually happen. The elevator can be a bit slow in the mornings when everyone is arriving, so I usually take the stairs. It keeps me moving. We have a few long tables where we sort through everything that comes in. Some days it is quiet, other days the sewing machines are going non-stop. It is loud then. We don’t really have a front desk or anyone to greet you with a coffee. You just walk in and we are usually in the back working. We have been in this spot for a few years now. The walls are a bit scuffed from moving boxes around, but that is just part of the job. We know the security guard downstairs and the guys at the tea stall across the street. It is a decent community here in the industrial area. We just keep our heads down and get the work done. It is not fancy, but it is what we know how to do best.
