Our office for Dlf Laingorourke India Pvt. Ltd. is located at House Number 436 in Sector 30, Faridabad. It is a residential area, so it is quite a bit calmer than the main market areas nearby. The house is a standard build for this sector and we have taken over the ground floor for our operations. You will not find any corporate branding or sleek reception desks here. It is just a front door that opens into a room filled with desks and cabinets. We have a small patch of grass out front that looks a bit dry because the sun is so harsh in this part of Haryana. Inside, the floors are made of that old-style stone that stays surprisingly cold. We have a tiny kitchen area in the back where the kettle is almost always running. Most of our days are spent going over documents or talking to people on the site. The walls are mostly bare, except for a calendar and a few maps pinned up with tape that is starting to yellow. Sometimes the neighbors’ kids play cricket in the street outside, and you can hear the ball hitting the pavement while we work. It is an honest, simple setup that works for us. We do not have much in the way of decor because we are more focused on the tasks at hand. It is a practical place to spend the day and handle the business without any extra distractions.
