Dhruv Toys Pvt. Ltd. is located at 131-A in New Colony, and it’s a place that’s always full of color. We make various types of toys, so you’ll see piles of plastic parts in bright reds, blues, and yellows all over the workbenches. It’s a small operation, and everyone knows each other’s names. We spend the day putting things together, checking for sharp edges, and making sure the pieces fit like they should. The floor is often littered with little plastic bits that seem to get everywhere no matter how much we sweep. We have a few simple machines for molding and assembly, and they make a steady humming noise in the background. The New Colony neighborhood is relatively quiet, but our shop is always humming with activity. We pack the toys into cardboard boxes and stack them near the door for the courier to pick up. It’s satisfying to see a finished product after it’s been through all the stages of production. We don’t have a fancy showroom, just the workshop where everything happens. Sometimes we try out new designs and it takes a few tries to get it right. It’s just us doing the work, making sure the toys are sturdy enough for kids to play with. The shelves are packed with samples and old designs that we’ve made over the years. It’s a bit messy, but that’s how we like it when we’re in the middle of a big order.
