Jacombpura is a crowded place, and our spot in the Jacumpura Market is no different. We are at 41552, right where the foot traffic is heaviest. Every morning involves moving boxes around to make a path through the shop. It’s a lot of lifting and stacking because the space is filled with inventory from floor to ceiling. People come in looking for all sorts of things, and usually, it takes a minute to find exactly what they need under all the other stock. The market gets very loud around noon, with people shouting and carts moving through the narrow lanes. We don't have a big fancy sign or a glossy storefront. It’s just the shop with the shutters rolled up and us inside dealing with the day's deliveries. Sometimes the light bulbs in the back flicker, and we keep meaning to change them but get sidetracked by a customer. We handle a lot of paperwork on an old wooden desk that’s been here since we opened. It’s a bit dusty because of all the cardboard boxes, but we try to keep the main counter clear. You’ll usually find one of us drinking tea while checking the manifests. It isn't a quiet job, and by the time we close up, the market is finally starting to settle down. We’ve been part of this street for years and know all the shortcuts through the stalls.
