Balit Publications Private Limited is tucked away in the Lal Kuan area. If you look for the Durga Mata Mandir Lane, you will find us there. We are fairly close to the Cyber Park in Sector 39, but our street feels much older and more traditional than the big glass buildings nearby. We spend our time editing and putting together various publications. It is mostly quiet work, except for the temple sounds outside. The office is full of bookshelves that are overflowing with old projects we have done over the years. We don't have any sleek furniture or modern art on the walls. It's just a place where we get the work done. A few of us have been here since the start. We know our routine well. One person handles the layouts while another checks the proofs for any spelling mistakes that might have slipped through. Sometimes we find a mistake right before it goes to print and we all have to scramble to fix it. We don't have a big social media presence or anything. We just rely on people knowing our name and the quality of the books we help produce. It’s a steady kind of life. We show up in the morning, make some tea, and start going through the manuscripts. It’s a lot of reading and checking, but we don’t mind the slow pace of it all because it means we can be thorough with every page.
