Auchan Intl.

We are up on the fourth floor of Tower B in the Global Business Park. Auchan Intl. has been based here at suite 401 for a good while. Even though the name of the park sounds a bit grand, our office is pretty lived-in and simple. We have a lot of filing cabinets and a few desks where we handle the international side of things. The view from the window is mostly of other buildings, but it’s nice to have some light coming in. We spend a lot of time on long-distance calls, often at odd hours because of the time zones. It isn't a high-pressure corporate environment like you might expect. It’s actually pretty quiet most of the time, except when the coffee machine is running. We don't have a big mission statement on the wall or anything like that. We just focus on the task at hand and try to make sure we don’t miss any details in the contracts. People come and go, but the core of the work stays the same. We deal with a lot of numbers and shipping routes. Sometimes the elevators in Tower B take forever, so we’ve learned to be patient. We’re just a small team trying to stay on top of a lot of moving parts. It’s a lot of routine, but we like the consistency of it.
