My office is in Sector 9, right over at H.No. 464. Most people just call the area Apna Bazar. It’s a pretty standard setup for a legal practice in Gurgaon. I’ve been working from this location for a good while. Dealing with legal papers and court dates is what fills up my week. There’s always a lot of paperwork piled up on the desk. People come by with all sorts of issues, mostly related to property or some local disputes. It’s not a big law firm with a lobby and a receptionist. Usually, it’s just me and maybe an assistant helping out with the filing. If you come by, you’ll probably see me reading through some old case files or typing out a petition. The neighborhood is fairly quiet, which helps when I need to concentrate on a difficult brief. I spend quite a bit of time at the courts, so the office isn't always occupied during the morning hours. Clients usually call ahead or just drop by in the evenings when I’m back. It’s a practical way to work. I handle the documents, talk to the people involved, and try to figure out the next step in the process. It is a lot of reading and waiting for dates. Dealing with the legal system takes time, and that is just the reality of the work here in Gurgaon.
