Top Engineers

Our place is at 28, BF Industrial Estate. It's one of those typical industrial plots where there's always something being made or fixed. Top Engineers isn't a huge operation. We have our workshop and a small office corner. There’s usually oil on the floor and the smell of metal being worked. We’ve been here for years. The guys wear overalls and they're usually covered in grease by noon. It's honest work. We don't have a front desk or a receptionist. If you come by, you just walk in and find someone. Usually, someone is running a machine or looking at a blueprint. It gets quite loud, so we have to shout sometimes to be heard over the equipment. The industrial estate is a busy place. Lots of trucks and small tempos moving around. We’ve got our own way of doing things. It’s not corporate at all. We just fix what needs fixing and build what’s ordered. The roof leaks a tiny bit when it rains really hard, but we’ve got buckets for that. We just stay focused on the jobs we have. There's a small dog that hangs around the estate, and we usually give him some scraps from our lunch. We have our tea together at four o'clock. It’s a good break. We talk about the news or the cricket scores. It’s a simple life and it works for us.
