Batala Cottage Industries

Batala Cottage Industries is situated right on Railway Road in Batala. Being near the tracks means you always know when the trains are passing through because the whole place vibrates just a little bit. It’s a sound we’ve all grown to ignore over the years we have been here. This part of Batala is full of history and small industries, and we’ve been a part of that fabric for quite a while. Our building is one of those sturdy, older structures that has seen better days but still holds up fine against the weather. The rooms are a bit dark, and the floors are worn down from all the walking back and forth between the machines. We don't have a fancy entrance or a sign that lights up at night to attract attention. People just know where we are. Railway Road is usually crowded with carts and people heading to the station, so there’s always something to look at if you take a break by the front door. We keep things pretty informal inside. There’s no big boss in a corner office; we all just pitch in where we are needed most. It’s a bit cramped with all the materials we keep on hand, but we know where everything is kept. The air usually smells a bit like metal and old wood. It’s a practical place for people who like to work and don't care much for fancy stuff. We just get on with it.
