Kumar General Store

Kumar General Store is located in the village and post office area of Harsha Chhina, near Ajnala in Amritsar. Being in a place like Harsha Chhina means we are a central point for many people in the village. We’ve been here for a long time. People come to us for their monthly rations like big bags of flour or pulses. We also keep smaller things like candy for the kids and stationery for the school students. The shop is a place where people often stop to chat for a bit while they wait for their orders to be packed. We don’t have a fancy checkout counter, just a simple desk. Everything is weighed and packed right in front of you. We try to keep our prices fair because we know everyone in the village. It’s a very personal way of doing business. You won’t find any big marketing banners here. Just the name on the board outside. Sometimes when the harvest season is on, it gets very busy and we struggle to keep up. But mostly, it’s a steady pace. We appreciate the trust the local families have in us. It’s a simple life running a shop in Ajnala. We just provide what is needed for the daily kitchen and home. It’s honest work and we’ve been doing it this way for years. We keep the doors open from early morning until the sun goes down and stars come out.
