Batala is one of those places where everyone seems to know everyone else’s business, and Guru Nanak Nagar is no different. Our office for Jindal India Thermal Power is located at House Number B-III 80/60. It is a humble spot in Gurdaspur district, right here in Punjab. Being in a residential-looking house makes the whole work experience feel a bit more personal. We do not have those giant flashing signs or big billboards. Most people find us through word of mouth or by just looking for the house number near the local landmarks. The area is usually bustling with activity, especially during the day when the local markets are open. Working in thermal power might sound like a huge, complicated thing, but at this office, it is mostly about the day-to-day logistics and making sure the lights stay on. We have been part of the Batala community for a while. The winters here get quite cold and the summers are blazing, but the work never really stops. We drink a lot of chai and talk about the local news while we handle our responsibilities. It is a straightforward way of living and working. We are not interested in sounding important; we just want to do the job right from our small corner of Punjab. If you happen to be in Guru Nanak Nagar, you will probably see us coming and going.
