Zaikaa

We are located in the Suryodaya Apartments, right on the 2nd Lane in Navbharat Nagar. Zaikaa isn’t some big restaurant in a mall; it’s a smaller setup tucked away where the locals live. You can usually find us by following the smell of the spices and the onions frying in the kitchen. The kitchen is the heart of the place, and it’s usually pretty hot and cramped in there. We have a few tables, but a lot of what we do is for people living in the apartments nearby who don't feel like cooking. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we’re more focused on getting the food out on time. Navbharat Nagar is a nice area, fairly quiet until the school nearby lets out. We start our prep work early, chopping vegetables and getting the sauces started. It’s a messy job, and our aprons are never clean for long. We don't have a big fancy menu with pictures; we just cook what we know how to make well. Sometimes we run out of something popular and have to tell the customers we’re sorry. It’s just how it goes in a small kitchen. Most of the people who come in are regulars who live just a few doors down. We like that it feels more like a home kitchen than a business.
