Vijaya Durga

You can find Vijaya Durga over at 45-24 in Krishna Nagar. It’s a busy little area and we’ve been part of it for a good bit now. Our place is easy to spot once you get onto the right street. It’s not a huge building, just enough room for the few of us who work here every day. We start early, usually before the sun gets too high, because Krishna Nagar starts moving pretty fast in the mornings. There’s always noise from the street, people walking by and scooters zooming past our front door. Inside, we keep things pretty basic. There are some old shelves along the walls and a few desks that have been here as long as I can remember. We spend most of our day handling whatever comes through the door. It’s not always glamorous work, but it keeps us busy. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit and wait it out, chatting until the lights come back on. We know the neighbors well and often share a bit of news over the fence or at the corner shop. We aren't trying to be anything we're not. We just run Vijaya Durga from this spot and try to keep things moving along. It’s a steady pace most of the time. We like being in Krishna Nagar because everything we need is just a short walk away. It’s home for us and it keeps the day moving.
