Tulasi House is located at 6-4-6, Arundelpet 4/5, and it’s a place that feels very tied to the seasons. Depending on the time of year, we are either incredibly busy or just keeping things ticking over. The office is usually filled with the earthy smell of seeds. We have stacks of bags everywhere, and there is always a lot of talk about the weather and how it’s going to affect the next planting. We don’t really do the corporate thing with suits and long presentations. Most of the people here are more comfortable talking about soil and growth cycles. We spend a lot of time checking batches and making sure the labels are correct. The phone rings a lot with calls from distributors and people out in the fields. Sometimes the loading dock gets backed up and there is a bit of shouting to get the trucks moving, but it’s all in a day’s work. We have a small team that has been together for a long time, so we know each other’s habits pretty well. It’s not a high-tech glass building, just a solid place where we handle the basics of agriculture. We try to keep things organized, even when the busy season makes the warehouse look like a bit of a mess. It’s practical work that follows the rhythm of the land. We just show up every morning and do our part.
