Rempeyek Bu Guntur

We are located in the Btn Permata Anyar area of Lukluk, specifically on Jalan Permata Jaya at Block D2 No 8. This is basically where we make our rempeyek. If you walk by our house in Badung, you can usually smell the frying oil and the spices we use. Rempeyek Bu Guntur started out small, just cooking in the kitchen for friends and neighbors, and it kind of grew from there. It is a home-based thing, so you won't find a big store front or a giant warehouse. We just have our workspace set up to handle the crackers and the nuts. Most of the day is spent doing prep work, cleaning, and then the actual frying which takes a lot of patience to get right. The neighborhood is pretty quiet, mostly just families living their lives, so we try not to make too much of a mess. Our family helps out when things get really busy, especially when there is a big order for a ceremony or a local shop. Sometimes the kitchen gets really hot, and we have to take breaks, but that is just how it goes when you’re making food by hand. We use simple ingredients that we buy from the local market. It’s not a fancy operation, just us making snacks that people seem to enjoy eating with their meals. If you're ever in the Permata Anyar block, you'll know where we are.
