About Madhuri Bricks – Building & Construction Material in Guntur
It gets pretty hot out here on the Nh.-5 road, especially in the afternoons when the sun is right over the yard. Madhuri Bricks has been at this spot near the post office in Kollur for quite some time now. We aren't doing anything fancy, just the regular work of making bricks from the local clay we get. You can see the smoke from the kiln from quite a distance if the wind is blowing the right way. Most of us here have been doing this for years, so we know the routine by heart. The trucks come in early, usually around six or seven, and they start loading up. It’s a lot of manual labor, picking up the bricks and stacking them properly so they don't break on the bumpy roads. Sometimes the dust gets into everything, even your lunch, but that's just how it is working in a brickyard. We spend most of the day outside, watching the weather because if it rains unexpectedly, it messes up the whole drying process. There isn't much to the office, just a small room with a fan that barely works, but we don't spend much time in there anyway. It’s a busy place with the highway noise always in the background, but it’s home for us. We just keep our heads down and get the bricks ready for whoever needs them for their house or wall. It isn't a glamorous job, but someone has to do it.
