Lepakshi Handicrafts Emporium

Our shop is located at Door Number 4-12, right inside the Taluk Office Compound on the Main Road in Brodipet. Being inside the compound means we get a lot of people coming in who are actually there to visit the government offices. They often wander into our place while they are waiting for their appointments or paperwork to be processed. We sell a variety of handicrafts, and the shelves are packed with items made of wood, brass, and cloth. The shop has a specific smell to it, a mix of old wood and the incense we light every morning. It’s a fairly old building, and the ceiling is a bit high, which helps keep the air moving. We don’t have any fancy lighting or modern displays. We just use the same wooden tables and glass cases we’ve had for years. It’s a quiet place most of the time, and we spend our hours organizing the stock and talking to the regulars. Sometimes a group of tourists will come by on a bus, and then the place gets very loud and busy for an hour, but then it goes back to being calm again. We get our items from different craftsmen who bring their work to us. It’s a simple business, and we’ve been part of the Brodipet community for a long time now. We don't really do much advertising; people just know where we are. It’s just a part of the daily life around the main road.
