You can find us at D. No. 7-15-14, on the 9th Line in Valluri Vari Thota. This is in the Arundelpet area of Guntur. Lakshmipati Chit Funds Private Limited has been in this spot for some time now. Guntur is a big place, but our little corner in Arundelpet is where we do all our work. The office is full of filing cabinets and old desks that have seen better days. We spend our time tracking the monthly chit groups and making sure the math is right. It’s a lot of manual entry, even with the computers we have now. We have a small staff of local people who live nearby. We aren’t corporate types; we’re just regular folks who know how to manage a ledger and talk to the neighbors. People come in from all over the city to drop off their payments. It gets crowded on the 9th Line sometimes, especially during the first week of the month when everyone is coming in. We don’t have a fancy lobby with coffee machines or anything. Usually, there’s just a water cooler and some plastic chairs for people to sit while they wait. We focus on getting the paperwork right and making sure everyone knows when it’s their turn. It’s a very straightforward business without much fuss or any big marketing. Most of our members come to us because they live nearby or their family has been with us before.
