Kdh Handlooms

Kdh Handlooms is situated on Tenali Road in Mangalagiri. If you know this area, you know it's famous for its weaving. We are right in the heart of it. Our place is more of a traditional setup. We have looms and stacks of finished sarees and dress materials everywhere. The sound of the looms is something you get used to pretty quickly. It’s a bit dusty because of all the cotton thread, but that’s how it is with handlooms. We aren't a fancy retail store with air conditioning; it’s more of a workshop where people can also buy what we make. We’ve been doing this for a long time, and the techniques haven't changed much. We see a lot of people coming through on their way to Tenali. Sometimes they stop and look around. We don't do much in the way of selling ourselves; the fabric speaks for itself. It’s a lot of hard work, sitting at the loom for hours, but we take pride in it. The shop is usually open early and we stay until the sun goes down. Mangalagiri is a quiet place mostly, except for the traffic on the main road. We are just a local business trying to keep the tradition going. We don't have any corporate offices, just this one spot on Tenali Road. It gets very busy during festival seasons when everyone wants new clothes. We just keep the looms moving and hope for the best.
