Our shop, Indo -Electricals Pvt.Ltd, is tucked away in Bhavangar Colony over in Ponnur. The house number is 1-3-42A, 3/2, in case you are looking for it. Guntur can get really hot, so we usually have the big fans running all day long. We sell all sorts of electrical parts like wires, sockets, and those little bits you need for house repairs. My father actually started this business years ago, and I took over when he decided to retire. We have a couple of guys who work as electricians. They take their bikes and go out to fix things for the neighbors when their power acts up. The back room is quite full of boxes and old components we’ve saved just in case someone needs a rare part. It’s not the most organized place, but we know exactly where everything is located. Most of our customers are just local people from the colony who we have known for a long time. We sit at the front counter and drink tea while we wait for people to come in. It’s a very steady pace of life here in Andhra Pradesh. We aren't looking to expand into some huge chain. We just like helping the people nearby keep their lights on and their fans spinning. It’s good, honest work and we are happy with that. We close up when it gets dark and start again the next morning.
