About Hari Krishna Minerals – Metals & Minerals in Guntur
Down here on Pillutla Road in Narasaraopet, things can get pretty gritty. Hari Krishna Minerals is basically a yard and a small office building at 1-241. We deal with a lot of heavy material, so there is always a truck coming in or going out. My boots are almost always covered in a layer of fine dust from the minerals we handle. It is not the kind of job where you stay clean for long. I spend half my day on the phone talking to drivers and the other half out in the yard making sure things are being loaded correctly. The sun hits the road hard during the summer and the heat radiates off the ground. We have a small shaded area where we take breaks and drink water from the cooler. It’s a loud place when the engines are running, but you get used to it after a week or two. I started working here because it was close to home, and I’ve just stayed on. We don’t have a lot of decorative stuff in the office, just the maps, some old ledgers, and a few chairs that have seen better days. It is honest work and it keeps us busy from Monday through Saturday. The road outside gets busy with tractors and local traffic heading into town. We just keep our heads down and get the orders moved out as they come in.
