Our place is located out in Nidubrolu, which is part of the Ponnur area in Guntur district. You can find us at the address 4-3-9 Vidyanagar. It’s a bit of a drive for some, but the local people know us well enough. Being an orthopaedic hospital, we see a lot of people walking with canes or coming in with bandages. The floors are white and we try to keep them clean, though dust always finds its way in from the road. We have a few beds for those who need to stay a bit longer after a procedure. It’s not like those big city hospitals with glass walls and uniforms. Here, it’s a bit more relaxed. The nurses know most of the families by name because people stay in this area for generations. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to switch over to the generator, which makes a bit of a hum in the background. We spend a lot of time looking at X-rays and explaining things to folks who are worried about their bones. Dr. Chitti Babu stays busy in the consultation room most of the day. There’s a small area where people wait, and it gets pretty full on Mondays. We’ve got some old wooden benches and a few plastic chairs. It’s a practical space, meant for fixing things and getting people back on their feet. No frills, just the hospital work.
