The RTC bus stand is right across from us, so there is never a quiet moment. You can hear the conductors shouting and the engines idling all day long. Dinesh Agencies is at 58/48/48, which is a bit of a weird number to remember but it’s easy to find. We deal with a lot of supplies and it feels like there is always a truck waiting to be unloaded. The boxes get stacked high against the back wall. Sometimes I have to climb a ladder that feels a bit shaky to get things down. We see a lot of travelers who are just passing through and need something quick before their bus leaves. The dust from the road covers everything, so we have to keep a cloth handy to wipe the counter. It’s a busy life. We usually start quite early before the sun is even fully up. The morning tea man comes by around seven and that’s the best part of the day. We have some chairs for people to sit if they are waiting for a delivery. The ledger book is always open on the desk because we have to keep track of every single item. It gets confusing when multiple people are asking for different things at once. We just do our best to keep things moving. The summers are the hardest because of the heat from the asphalt outside.
