Balakrishna Tea Company

Our place, Balakrishna Tea Company, sits right on 67, Palanadu Road in Vinukonda. It’s a hot part of the country, so the fans are always spinning. We deal with tea all day long. The road outside is usually full of dust and bikes. Inside, it’s a bit cooler with the tea chests stacked up. We don't have any flashy signs. Just the name and the address. Most of the time, we are just checking the quality of the leaves or talking to the transporters who bring the loads in. It's a simple life. We start early before the sun gets too high. There's a small tea stall nearby where we get our morning snacks. The building we are in has been around for years. The floor is a bit uneven in the back, but it doesn't bother the tea. We aren't some big corporation with suits. We wear regular clothes and get our hands dirty. Sometimes the paperwork piles up on the desk, and we have to spend the whole afternoon catching up. Vinukonda is home for us. We like the people here. We don't try to act like we are better than any other shop on Palanadu Road. We just do our work, lock up in the evening, and come back the next day to do it again. It’s just a normal way to earn a living with tea and we are fine with that.
