Swadeshi Tiles

Our shop is out on Gundlupet Road in Chamarajanagar. You can't miss it if you're driving that way. We spend most of our time moving heavy crates of tiles around the warehouse. It's a lot of heavy lifting, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We carry a bunch of different patterns and sizes, mostly for floors and walls. People come in from all over the district to look at what we have in the yard. It gets pretty dusty with all the ceramic and stone, but we try to keep the samples clean enough for people to see the colors properly. We aren't interior designers or anything; we just sell the tiles and tell you how many boxes you'll probably need for your room. Sometimes a few pieces get cracked during shipping, so we have to sort through the stock carefully. It's just a regular local business, nothing too fancy about the way we do things. We open up early in the morning because that's when the builders like to pick up their supplies before heading to the site. If you need something specific, you usually have to wait a few days for the truck to bring it down, but we try to keep the common stuff ready to go. The sun hits the front of the shop pretty hard in the afternoon, so we usually hide out in the back office then.
