We've been over here on Hat Road for quite a while now. Most people around Guna know the spot, right near where Ram Narayan Soni is. It’s a busy little area but we like it here. My family started this because we just liked working with stones and gold, nothing too fancy. You walk in and it’s basically just us and the glass cases. Sometimes the tea runs out and we have to send someone down the street to get more, that's just how it goes on a Tuesday afternoon. We keep things pretty simple. If you need something fixed or you're looking for a gift for a wedding, we've probably got it sitting in a drawer somewhere or out on display. It’s not one of those big malls where nobody knows your name. I usually handle the counter myself most days. The traffic on Hat Road gets loud around five o’clock, but the shop stays quiet enough to talk. We don't spend much on decorations because the jewellery is what people come for anyway. Most of our regulars have been coming since they were kids, and now they bring their own kids. It’s nice seeing faces we recognize year after year. We don't really do the whole fancy office thing. If the door is open, we’re inside working. Come by and say hello if you’re passing through the market area, there’s usually a stool to sit on.
