Geetanjali Spices

Our business, Geetanjali Spices, is located at Plot Number 6 near the Mandi Gate in Taluka Kumbhraj. We are right next to the Mandi Office, so we are in the middle of all the action in Guna district. The area is always buzzing with activity, especially during the harvest season when the tractors are lined up for miles. We handle all sorts of spices here, and the air around our plot is always thick with the smell of coriander, mustard, and dried chilies. It can be quite overwhelming for someone who isn't used to it. We spend our days sorting through the raw spices that come in from the farms. We have to be very careful to pick out any stones or dirt. Then we weigh them and pack them into large jute bags. It’s a lot of physical work, and our backs often ache by the time we finish. The office is just a small cabin with a fan and a couple of plastic chairs. We do all our bookkeeping by hand in large ledger books. It’s a dusty environment, and we have to clean the floors several times a day to keep the spice dust from building up. We don't have any fancy machinery; it’s mostly just us and a few workers doing everything by hand. We take things as they come and try to keep our heads down and do a good job.
