Zawar Cement Company

Our operation is based out in Shahabad, which is part of the Gulbarga district. We’re located at House Number TRR 18/1. If you’ve ever been to this part of the country, you know it can be very dry and the sun is often quite strong. Working with cement in a place like this means you are always going to be a bit dusty. We handle a lot of different orders for local builders and contractors who are working on houses and shops around the area. It’s a very physical business. We spend our time checking loads and making sure the deliveries are going to the right sites. Our office is simple, just a room with some old desks and a lot of ledgers. We aren't really into using a lot of fancy technology; we prefer to talk to people face-to-face or over a quick phone call. There’s a lot of trust involved in what we do. Sometimes the cement plants have delays, or the trucks run into trouble on the back roads, and we have to spend our afternoon sorting out the mess. It can be frustrating, but we just deal with it. Most of the people who work here are from Shahabad, so we all know each other’s families. We aren't looking to be the biggest company in India. We just want to keep the business running smoothly and serve the people in our own community. It’s a plain life.
