Vijay Kumar Patil Dental Clinic

Our clinic is located in Sedam, which is part of the Gulbarga district in Karnataka. If you know the area, you know it’s a busy little town. Dr. Patil started this place because people around here needed somewhere to go for their teeth without traveling too far. The clinic itself isn't huge, just a couple of chairs and the usual tools you’d expect to see at a dentist. It can get pretty loud with the sound of the drills and the water running, and we know that makes some people nervous. We try to have some old magazines in the waiting area to take people's minds off things, but they usually just end up looking at their phones. The heat in Sedam can be tough in the summer months, so our little cooling unit works overtime. We see a lot of people from the local villages who come in after a long bus ride. Sometimes they have to wait a while if a procedure takes longer than we thought it would. We don't have a receptionist who wears a uniform; it’s usually just one of us helping out with the appointments and the cleaning. We spend a lot of time scrubbing instruments and making sure everything is where it should be for the next person. It’s a simple life, fixing cavities and pulling teeth that can’t be saved, but it’s important work for the people in our corner of the district.
