You can find Shree Bhavan I Departmental Store over at 72-6-14 in Sai Baba Colony, Sedam. We’ve got a decent-sized space here, filled with all the usual things people need for their homes. From snacks to cleaning supplies, it’s all spread out across the aisles. It’s not one of those fancy supermarkets with bright lights and music, just a regular store where we try to keep things easy to find. The floors are a bit worn from all the walking over the years, but we keep it clean. Working here in Sedam means we get to talk to a lot of different people throughout the day. Sai Baba Colony is a nice area, and we feel like a part of the daily rhythm here. Sometimes the stockroom gets a bit overwhelming when a big shipment comes in, and you’ll see boxes piled up near the back for a day or two. We don’t have a big marketing department or anything like that. We just put the prices on the items and wait for the customers to come in. It’s a steady job and we like the routine of it. Most days are the same, which is fine by us. We’re just here to provide the essentials and chat with the locals who come in. We open up the shutters every morning and stay until late evening. It’s a simple life and it serves the community well enough.
