Sharan Paediatric Hospital

Anand Nagar is a pretty quiet area, but our hospital is usually the loudest place on the block. Sharan Paediatric Hospital is where the local kids come when they aren't feeling well. We’ve got some colorful stickers on the walls to help the little ones stay calm, but they still cry quite a bit during their checkups. You get used to the noise after a few weeks of working here. The waiting room has some old toys scattered around, and I usually have to pick them up three or four times a day so nobody trips. It’s a small team here. We know most of the parents by their first names because they’ve brought all their children to us over the years. The morning shift starts with a lot of coffee and checking the temperature of the rooms. Anand Nagar has a lot of trees, so it stays a bit cooler here than in the city center. We don’t have fancy machines in every corner, just the essentials to make sure the kids are okay. Sometimes a parent is really worried, and we just sit with them for a minute. It’s not just about the medicine; it’s about being a familiar face. We close up when the streetlights come on, usually exhausted but ready to do it again the next day. It’s a messy, loud, and honest way to make a living, and we wouldn't have it any other way.
