S M G Contractor is based right behind the bus stand on Rajgir road, in the Birla area vadi. It is a busy part of the town, and the noise from the buses is something we have just gotten used to over the years. Our office isn't much to look at, just a small space where we keep our records and a few tools that aren't currently at a job site. As contractors, we are almost always out in the field. You won't find us sitting behind a desk for very long. We are usually at a site, talking to the workers and making sure the materials are being used the right way. The Birla area vadi is where we do most of our work, so we know the local suppliers and the people around here quite well. It’s a lot of physical work, often under the sun, and things rarely go exactly as planned. We have to deal with broken equipment or delays in getting sand and gravel. That’s just the life of a contractor on Rajgir road. We don't have a website or a big sign. People usually just find us because they saw our trucks or heard from someone we worked for before. It’s a simple, honest way to make a living. We just show up every morning and get to work on whatever project is currently on the schedule. It’s not fancy, but it gets the job done.
