We have a simple setup with a few glass counters and rows of plastic bins filled with connectors and small electrical bits. Gulbarga is a very dry place, so we keep a large water pot in the corner for anyone who is thirsty. The shop isn't very large, and sometimes it feels even smaller when we get a big shipment of ceiling fans or heavy motors in. We don't have a professional cleaning crew or anything, so we just do the dusting ourselves before we open up. There is a small bench outside where customers wait if there are more than three people inside at once. My cousin helps me with the lifting and the deliveries. We usually close for an hour in the afternoon when the sun is at its hottest because nobody is out on the streets then anyway. It’s a quiet life for the most part. We just focus on keeping the shelves stocked and making sure the local farmers and builders can get the parts they need without having to travel all the way into the main city center. It’s an honest way to spend the day.
