Hyderabad Karnataka Mushroom Growers Society

Our place is over at Plot No. 87 in Lawyers Colony. It’s a bit of an unusual spot for a growers society, but it works for us. We spend a lot of time talking about mushrooms and how to get them growing right in different conditions. It's mostly a group of us who have been doing this for a few years. We aren't a big company with a shiny lobby or a receptionist. It’s more of a practical space where we meet up and sort things out. Growing mushrooms is a finicky business, so there's always something to worry about like temperature or humidity levels. We try to help each other out with tips we’ve picked up over the seasons. Sometimes things go well and sometimes a crop doesn't turn out like you'd hope. That's just how it goes with farming. We handle the paperwork and the distribution from this office. It’s quiet in the colony compared to the main roads, which we like. People come by to ask about starting their own small setups in their backyards. We aren't experts in everything, but we know our way around a mushroom bed. The office is usually a bit cluttered with bags and samples. We just keep things moving and try to make sure everyone in the society gets what they need. It’s a simple operation, really. Nothing too fancy, just some local folks working with what they have. We’re usually here until the evening when the light starts to go.
