Tata Chemicals Ltd, Mithapur

I am Sanjeev Jain, and I work out of S-1/9 in the Tata Chemicals Township. This is located in Mithapur, which is part of the Jamnagar district in Gujarat. My workspace is essentially part of the township housing, which is how a lot of things are set up here. It makes for a very short commute, basically just a walk across the street. The area is quiet, mostly filled with other people who work for the plant. S-1/9 is a modest space. I have my desk, a couple of chairs for when people drop by, and a lot of files that I've been meaning to organize better. The township is a tight-knit community. You can't go to the market without bumping into three people you know. My day usually starts with a cup of tea and checking the overnight messages. The air here has that distinct salty smell because we are so close to the sea. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit, but we just sit and wait it out or talk shop. We don’t have a big marketing team or a polished image. It’s just me and a few others handling the local affairs for Tata Chemicals Ltd. It’s a practical way to live and work. The building itself is a bit weathered from the coastal air, but it’s home. We just keep things moving as best as we can every day. It's a regular spot with regular work.
