Tata Chemicals

Our office for Tata Chemicals is located in the township here in Mithapur, Jamnagar. Specifically, we are at S-1/ 9, and Sanjeev Jain is usually around the premises. The township is a peaceful place to be. It is different from working in a crowded city center. We have trees around and the streets are laid out nicely. In S-1/ 9, we have a simple set of rooms where we manage the chemical business. The walls are a light color and we have some old maps of the district pinned up. It is not a place for fancy meetings or expensive furniture. We have what we need to get the job done, and that is about it. The weather in Gujarat is quite predictable—usually hot and dry—so we have our fans running all the time. Working for Tata Chemicals in a place like this means you know everyone. We see Sanjeev and the rest of the team every day and we just get on with it. There is a lot of paperwork to stay on top of, and we spend a good chunk of our time on the phone or at the computer. We like the quietness of the S-1/ 9 block. It lets us concentrate. We do not have any mission statements on the wall, just a calendar and maybe a list of important phone numbers. It is just a real place with real people working every day. The 361 345 district is home to us now.
