Out here in Malanjkhand, things are a bit different. Everest Kanto Cylinder Ltd has a spot at Qtr. B/5/14 in the Balaghat district of M.P. It’s a quiet area, very different from the big cities. The office is actually part of the quarters, so it’s got a very local, down-to-earth feel. We are right in the heart of the mining area. Most of the people around here are connected to the industry in one way or another. Our work is quite specific to the needs of this region. It’s a small operation here. We don’t have many visitors, mostly just people from the site dropping by with news or paperwork. The office is basic—just the essentials like desks and a couple of cabinets. We deal with a lot of logs and maintenance records. The weather can be quite extreme, really hot in the summer and then heavy rains during the monsoon. We just take it as it comes. There’s no corporate polish here, just us doing our jobs. We know everyone in the neighborhood. It’s the kind of place where people stop to chat for a minute before getting back to work. We focus on the daily grind and keeping the equipment records up to date. It’s a steady pace of life. We’ve been in Balaghat for quite a while now, and we’re just part of the local scenery at this point. No big missions, just keeping the cylinders moving.
