Hast Kala Prints

Our shop is over at Plot No. 64 in Udyog Vihar, Zakir Nagar. It is an industrial area, so there is always trucks and noise around. We do printing here. It is a lot of manual work, getting the screens ready and making sure the ink is just right. The floors usually have some stains on them, but that is what happens when you work with colors all day. We have a few long tables where the printing happens. It gets pretty hot in the summer months, but we keep the fans going. We are not a big company, just a local place where we handle different types of print jobs. Some of the guys have been with us for years. They know the rhythm of the place. We start around nine and keep going until the day's orders are finished. Sometimes that means staying late if a batch does not turn out quite right the first time. Zakir Nagar is a busy place, and being in Udyog Vihar means we are around other people doing similar work. We share the same problems like power cuts or rain slowing down the drying process. We just take it one day at a time. It is practical work. We do not spend much time on the computer; we would rather be on the floor seeing how the prints are coming out. It is how we have always done it at Hast Kala Prints.
