You can find us at Plot No. 3 Toy City Udyog Kendra. Sunlord Apparels Manufacture Company Ltd. is tucked away in this corner of the industrial estate. It is a large enough space but it always feels a bit tight when we have a big production run going on. The floors are concrete and have some stains from the oil used in the machines over the years. We spend our days looking at patterns and making sure the stitching is straight enough. It isn't a glamorous job by any means. There are a lot of threads on the floor by the end of the shift. We have a routine that we follow every single day. The supervisor usually starts things off early in the morning before the heat gets too bad. We have piles of shirts and trousers in different stages of being finished. Sometimes the power goes out and we just have to sit and wait for the generator to kick in. It’s just part of being in Udyog Kendra. We don't spend much on decorating the office or anything like that. The money goes into the materials and keeping the equipment running. Most of the people working here live nearby, so we have a bit of a community feel. We just focus on the task at hand and try to stay ahead of the deadlines. It is a straightforward operation without any of the extra stuff you don't really need.
