Akaar Studios

Akaar Studios is tucked away in Sector 9, specifically at number 2414. If you walk into our space, you’ll probably see a lot of half-finished models and piles of sketches everywhere. It’s not the neatest place in the world, but it’s where we do our best thinking. We don’t have a receptionist or a waiting area with magazines. You just walk in and find whoever is working at their desk. Sector 9 has its own rhythm, and we’ve become part of that over the years. We spend our days debating over small details that most people probably wouldn't even notice. The light comes through the windows pretty well in the morning, which is the best time to work on the technical stuff. By the afternoon, the place is usually a bit more chaotic with people coming in and out. We use a lot of different materials, so there’s always a smell of glue or sawdust or old paper hanging around. It’s a practical workspace, designed for getting things built and designed, not for showing off. We’ve had all sorts of people walk through that door, and everyone gets treated the same way. Whether it’s a small sketch or a big plan, it all takes the same amount of effort and focus. We just like to get our heads down and do the work without any extra fuss or fancy talk. That is how we have always run the studio.
