Ashiwini Kumar

I’m Ashiwini Kumar, and you can find me working at the Civil Hospital in Phillaur. Phillaur is a town in the Jalandhar district, and the Civil Hospital is one of the main places where people go when they need medical help. It’s a government facility, so it’s always very busy. There are people coming in from the town and all the surrounding villages at all hours. I’ve been stationed here for a while now. The hospital is a big, older building with long hallways and lots of different wards. It isn't a luxury place, but it serves a very important purpose for the local community. My daily routine involves seeing a lot of different patients with all sorts of issues. Some days I’m in the outpatient department, and other times I’m checking on people in the wards. It can be quite noisy and crowded, with families waiting in the corridors. We do our best with what we have. It’s a very practical environment where the focus is on getting people the treatment they need so they can go back home.
