Welcome Travel Service is tucked away in Patwa Katra, right in Sonar Gali. This is in the Bahalganj area of Gorakhpur. If you know Sonar Gali, you know it’s a bit of a narrow lane. It’s got a lot of character and it’s always busy with people walking through. Our shop is simple. We don't have a lot of room, but we make it work. We’ve got a couple of desks and some old maps on the wall. It’s a local business through and through. We don't have a big website or a call center. It’s just us sitting here waiting for the next person to come through the door. Most of our customers are people from the neighborhood who have known us for years. We help them with train tickets or bus travel. It’s small-scale stuff. The Patwa Katra area is quite old and has its own charm. Sometimes it gets a bit loud outside with all the merchants and shoppers, but we don't mind. It’s part of the life here. We don't use any big words to describe what we do. We just help people get where they want to go. If the weather is nice, we keep the door open. If it’s raining, we all huddle inside. It’s a very basic way to run things, but it’s worked for us so far. We don't have any grand plans to expand or anything. We just like being part of the Gali. That's how we've always been.
